Cannes, France, March 6th 2014 – The independent studio Cubical Drift delivers further details on the crowdfunding campaign of Planets3, which launched today on KickStarter : http://kck.st/1gTJjNi

Planets3 is a voxel-based role-playing PC game that invites players to shape their own spatial adventure and to visit multiple planets, all composed of nearly 30,000 billions of blocks! To date, 10% of the game has already been developed including some elements of game design, graphic identity and the long distance display engine.

The contributions that will be given through the KickStarter campaign – whose goal is set at $250,000 – will allow the studio to tackle the remaining 90%, with an important part allocated to R&D and animation. The game could well be launched on PC in the fall 2015, with the first part of this adventure: Planets³: Race to Space.

Story of Planets3
Aliens with a human appearance crashed on Earth several decades ago and never left. Since then, no one knows what became of them.

In Planets3, which is a wise mix of adventure, RPG and building gameplay, players will have to level up their character, solve different quests of the storyline, build their tools, habitations and vehicles in order to explore the numerous planets of the universe.
While players will have to slay monsters in dungeons, aliens in distress will ask their help to build the ship that will take them back home.

Planets3 also offers side quests allowing players to unlock the secrets of the game’s world and to find items only reachable in secondary storylines.

Planets3 is forecasted for the autumn 2015 on PC. Further information is available here : www.planets-cube.com

About Cubical Drift
Created in 2013, Cubical Drift is an independent video game studio bringing together video game passionates, each one of them being an expert in their field. Planets³ is the studio’s first project, which is ambitious both from a technical and artistic point of view. The studio foresees a 5 years schedule with the release of an extension within 3 years after the initial release, and its development on consoles and mobile platforms.

On a longer term, the studio wants to work with a research laboratory that develops for several years a real time “reality capture” technology. Cubical Drift estimates to be able to propose by 5-6 years fun and original games using this technology. More information on the game: www.planets-cube.com
