Photon Games brings you a new card game, Sultan’s Library, live on Kickstarter now! Zane Atkinson and Ryno Lourens, two South African game designers, have teamed up to bring you a game that is not only beautiful (thanks to Zane’s artistic skills) but offers quick and frantic gameplay (due to Ryno’s weird ability to memorize rulebooks). They are on Kickstarter to seek funding for Sultan’s Library, the first of many more games to come.
Sultan’s Library has gone through 3 stages of prototyping, playtesting and rewriting, ensuring that the gameplay is smooth, fast and engaging. It will include high quality cards and linen embossed cardboard character sheets, to ensure the components don’t degrade. The game is on Kickstarter for $35 USD, which includes free shipping to the US, Canada and South Africa. Photon Games is based out of Canada, but they are dedicated to bringing quality gaming both to and from South Africa.
About the Game
The desert is a strange and dangerous place. And yet, there are those who are willing to risk it all to get a taste of the fortune it holds. They will travel to ancient and beautiful places. They will find riches, knowledge and peace. In the end, they will all return to… The Sultan’s Library!
In Sultan’s Library, you play as an Envoy sent out by the Sultan to gather books and return them to his Library. In your turn, you have two Actions that you can use to explore the world, looking for books. Players need to pick up any books they find and bring them back to the Sultan’s Library. Once an Envoy has deposited 3 books, the remaining players finish out the round. Whichever Envoy brought back the most knowledge will surely earn their place at the Sultan’s side!
