As the cost of living in US is superb high his ability to stay in the university through graduation is at a great stake due to economic hit and uncertainty caused by pandemic lock-down around the globe. The cost should not be a barrier to getting a degree or credential, and debt should not hold you back after you graduate.

Well, I’ve analyzed every option that I thought could help me and I was told that even if this whole crowd-funding thing didn’t work out, that I should try anyway because at the end of it all, I’ll face a whole lot of people telling me that they ‘told me so’.

My name is Akbarhon Toshkhujayev and I am a student from Uzbekistan currently attending Touro’s master’s degree as a junior. For the past years, I have been involved in ‘giving back’ activities as I realized my passion for better education and prosperity to make a difference in the lives of the next generation. I realized developing countries like mine are still lag decades behind in global education. Thus, I did lots of thinking about how to redefine the education system in my country.

During my studies in Malaysia, I maintained a higher than 3.6 GPA while being involved in a variety of curricular and leadership activities. I’ve received Yayasan’s full scholarship, enlisted in Dean Honor List, played various leadership roles in university clubs, and organized a number of charity and fundraising campaigns. Besides, I actively participated in ENACTUS, working to empower the underprivileged community with entrepreneurial actions to create a better, more sustainable world.

I was determined to redefine the education system in my country as every child deserves a better education. With that, I decided to take a computer science degree with a focus on machine learning. I believe today, machine learning and AI play a great role in the education system in the future as I’ve seen its effectiveness and efficiency in global education system.

After graduation, I returned home hoping to start a startup but instead joined an educational startup where we started everything from scratch with my youngster, enthusiastic team of 7. We supported all functions of operations including mission, vision, concept, mission, strategy, planning, and organizational design. We offered hundreds of free classes to underprivileged students while charging moderate prices for affluent students. We organized several inspirational speeches and presentations in orphans and small schools, inspiring the young generation for a better life.

I have worked whole my life towards enhancing education and lives, making an impact, however, without additional financial support, I am facing a difficult obstacle to achieving this goal. Today, due to pandemic and financial hardship exacerbated by the economic situation in Uzbekistan where my family lives, my ability to stay in the university through graduation is at risk. I need your support to fill the gap so I can continue pursuing my dream. Every contribution makes a great impact.
