It’s full of hot lava, more directions to run to and adds purpose to the 3D runner games genre!
Yes, Temple Outrun: Lava is coming this autumn filled with quite a few surprises to it’s game genre. It all began by thinking what would make a runner game more enjoyable and challenging. The outcome of which was: to add more directions to run to and to add a purpose to the game.
The purpose of this game is first indicated and supported by the following story:
– The story began with a young pirate girl looking for adventures. She arrived at an old temple situated next to a huge volcano – thus, named, The Lava Temple. Not fearing any risks she delved deeply into the maze structure of the temple. Being curious about the size of the temple the young pirate girl continued her exploration, until suddenly – she spotted something shining in the far background.
– As she wasn’t able to see clearly through the thick mist, she came closer and closer until she reached a small stone upon which rested a huge diamond. She grabbed it and then it happened.
– The floor began to shake and walls crumble. The lava began to fill up the place. She realized taking the diamond triggered an ancient trap. Reacting quickly she began to run, knowing full well that it would not be easy to escape this place. The game of outrun began.
Thus, the objective of the game is to outrun the increasing lava. One will be able to do so by moving from one floor to another while avoiding obstacles and collecting items and keys which will allow to do so.
The game is currently being developed for Android and has released an Indiegogo campaign asking for support to release an iOS version as well.
