Velocity mount is the world’s only solid aluminum smartphone video mount designed for all sorts of action sports to photographers. The Velocity Mount Story

The idea behind the velocity mount was born out of a search for a cheap alternative to the gopro. Company founder, swen, wanted to share his skiing adventures in lake tahoe with his friends and family back home, but being a college student, couldn’t afford to buy an expensive device, especially when he was already carrying around a smartphone that would allow him to edit videos together without connecting to his computer. After months of prototyping and endless amounts of testing we introduce are ready to introduce the velocity mount.

The Velocity Mount Advantage

Design

Velocity mount was designed to be indestructible and durable for life. To achieve this we decided to construct it fully out 3061 aluminum alloy block, which was milled on a 5 axis milling machine. Stainless steel rods were designed to provide a means for the clip to slide up and down smoothly. Also with this simple design, the rods can be replaced with longer ones to accommodate various sized tablets, ipad, and smartphones. We attached a spring to ensure the mount would stay open when adjusting the unit to the various smartphone sizes.
