Through it’s fashionable, pocketed undergarments for men & women, Awestomy’s goal is different than many Kickstarter projects in that they want to address a sensitive topic by doing something that matters. Often seen as the Victoria’s Secret of the ostomy community, Awestomy’s two main themes are to help people, and providing a positive online support community.

Awestomy’s goal for the Kickstarter project is to help them meet the demand for their products by partnering with a high end production facility. What you’ll find in their Kickstarter project is that their loyal customers tell their stories about how Awestomy’s products have helped them through their struggles.

Customer James Steensma states, “It was almost instantaneous in putting on that wrap because it holds everything together and helps me feel more confident that someone is not trying to stare at my bag but what I’m trying to say.”

Co-Founder Jason McIntosh’s colostomy surgery was a jumping off point to aiding those who struggle with an ostomy, “We know what each other has been through, regardless of the severity. Whether it’s medication, medical appointments, or procedures. If Awestomy can help in some way to a return to normalcy, that is what will make me happy.”
