This project started July 21st of last year and was created by Eddie Dixon, (co-creator/director/cinematographer), and Wade Hatfield (co-creator/director/actor). Two guys willing to lay it on the line. They have several years between us working on anything from scripts to small short films.
Through a year of hard work and dedication they created “Days To Nights”, a interesting Kickstarter campaign with a ambitious trailer. The story is of the tragic tale of Carter. A man devastated by the sinners harvest. A mysterious event where every time the sun sets a full day of darkness follows. Letting pure evil exist in our realm. Over the course of a year humanity has withered away, leaving only the strong and the corrupt. He has been surviving for so long, it has put him in a state of repression. Now carter is on a journey, one last time, to piece together the answers to his past and reunite with his love. Lost so long ago. It is symbolic of the things in life cannot grasp and the effects of loss. Basically Its a film showing the greatness still left in horror and what can still be achieved with this genre.
Their campaign launched on April 23 and ends on Jun 12 of 2014. It is a short time to raise 60,000 dollars, but they believe true fans will quickly take interest.
The Film is planned to premiere exclusively to kickstarter backers and then film festivals. The creators hope to make it available world wide.
Days To Nights is, among many things, different and a fresh take on the genre. They went above and beyond to show a full length trailer and that is something to take into consideration. Given the amount of time and resources, or lack of, It truly stands out from the Kickstarter crowd.
This Horror campaign is reaching out to their niche audience, hoping to find support. A dream as big as this one is a big challenge, but they say its all about the love of films, and the love of horror.
