Los Angeles, CA – Writer/Director/Producer, Paul Robert Herman, has launched several fundraising campaigns to support his most recent project, STUCK. Raising the necessary budget will be made possible through four different crowdfunding platforms, including Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, GoFundMe, and RocketHub. Funding deadlines are set for January 31st, 2014. Filming will take place throughout February.
STUCK is about college burnout, Emit Pots, who is diagnosed with functional schizophrenia. He is put on an experimental drug trial by his psychiatrist only to discover the meds have awakened a dormant psychic ability to stop time. His trials and tribulations in dealing with this new-found power ultimately lead to a very Twilight Zone like twist in the end. It’s allegorical tale with metaphysical and philosophical themes. Money raised for STUCK will be used for every aspect of the movie process, including pre-production, principal photography, and post-production expenses.
Herman decided to use multiple crowdfunding platforms for a variety of reasons. “Each service has their own popularity algorithms and their own community of followers, which quadruples our chances of being seen and ultimately funded.” Their Kickstarter campaign has already seen success, having raised more than 110% of the goal. But further funding is still needed to reach the overall minimum budget.
Some great rewards are being offered to contributors. Depending on the amount pledged, rewards may include a part in the film, premiere VIP perks, or a significant IMDb.com film credit.
