Fashionable Sustainability

Three Houston clothing & accessory brands join forces for a fashion show supporting the concept of fashionable sustainability. Hello Lucky and Hunter Gatherer stand up to promote newly launched Stitched Brand Bags’ Kickstarter Campaign.

These three companies seem to agree on one thing: Creating stylish clothing and accessories that make you look and feel good. Hello Lucky is a Houston apparel and accessory shop that highlights the hand-made work of local artists; Hunter Gatherer is an online store with a mission to “to adorn you fabulously in threads and accessories you feel good about wearing”. Both shops are sponsoring the fashionable sustainability of the new Stitched Brand Bags’ Kickstarter Campaign with a chic and stylish fashion show (including Whitney’s “magical” punch!!).

Held at contemporary art showplace, G Gallery (301 E 11th St Houston, TX 77008) from 6-9p on Aug. 29th, the fashion show promises to be the highlight of full evening promoting fashionable sustainability in many forms.

Stitched Handbags are a collaborative effort of Houston artist Whitney Riley and Y.U.M. a foundation that works to improve the life of the poor and destitute in Indonesia. By making a pledge to this project, you’ll not only receive a limited edition, hand-crafted, stylish hand-bag, you’re helping fashionable sustainability and the artisans who hand-stitched them toward economic empowerment, and a better life for them, their families and their communities.

Made in sweetshops not sweatshops, Stitched handbags transcend their pragmatic purpose combining wearable art and social responsibility. Designed with imaginative care these bags are inspirations and not just disposable fabrications.

Hello Lucky which features clothing and accessories for men, women & kids and Hunter Gatherer, that sports “lovely goodies that are made in the good ol’ USA as well as fair trade goods” will be highlighting the work of local Houston artists in the fashion show beginning at 7pm. The Fashion Show show will feature over a dozen colorful and custom hand-made Stitched Brand handbags. Proceeds from the event go to support Stitched Brand Bag’s Kickstarter Campaign.
