Noya Jibon recently launched its new #MadeFairly Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds to develop its first factory in Dhaka where the Made Fairly Index will be implemented.

The LA-based company started in 2017, focusing on redefining ethical working conditions within the global fashion industry by providing affordable lifestyle fashion for all. Noya Jibon, translating to “New Life” in Bengali, is the pioneer of the Made Fairly Index: a golden standard for garment factories in establishing a minimum wage, minimum working standards, and a minimum set of benefits in order to empower garment workers everywhere. In a world of fashion – one of which dictates much of our identity – it is essential to acknowledge the conditions our clothes are produced in. The company strongly believes it is essential that the words, “Made Fairly” should be at the forefront of everyone’s mind when shopping for clothes.

Noya Jibon’s upcoming #MadeFairly Kickstarter campaign launched August 5th with the goal to raise $10,000. Over the past week, the company has raised over $1,000. The campaign focuses on bringing awareness to the payment of 4.1 million garment workers who starve on the streets of supplier countries such as Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and even the United States. The RMG industry makes up most of the economy in Bangladesh, but garment workers are not protected, thus being exposed to the unstable working environment and lack of a living wage. Noya Jibon’s goal is to raise the standards for these workers, ensuring that they receive ethical treatment and wages suitable for proper living conditions by developing the first Jibontex Factory. Moreover, these garment workers will be protected under the principles of the Made Fairly Index. You can support the campaign by donating or purchasing a product on their Kickstarter page.

Together we will SHIFT. FASHION. FORWARD.
